Simple cucumber salad

   Cucumber salad is a favorite recipe for my daughter. I think all people have been enjoying for ages. Thinly sliced cucumber and onion are mixed up with little vinegar and salt for your dish.

     Cucumber salad is light, refreshing and easy to prepare. There are a variety of cucumber salad recipes. But here I used to make a very simple recipe. Even kids can prepare it. A variety of cucumber is also available in the market. Also, red onions are perfect for eating raw. Be sure them to slice them as thinly as you can. If you didn't get a red onion you can use white onion. 

      It is very easy to make and it takes only about 10-15 minutes to put together. To make this cucumber and onion salad just slice thinly the cucumbers and onion and stir everything together. Even it is very easy to prepare it doesn't lack flavor.

Is cucumber Healthy?

        Cucumber is very healthy. Here in this salad, we are not using any mayo or cream. So it is a healthy salad. There is no cooking involved. Just a few preparations only we need. All we need is cut up a few ingredients that are onion and cucumber and you have your instant salad.
        Cucumber is a member of the gourd family. They are flexible food and can be cooked and /or eaten raw. They are an ideal salad ingredient. Low in calories, they are popular food for people on healthy diets, while they also offer a range of health benefits.

       Cucumbers have high water content, which further aids the liver and encourages urination.

Ingredients

  • 2 cucumbers
  • 1 onion
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder

Method of preparation

  1. Slice the cucumber into thin slices
  2. Slice the onion into thin stripes
  3. Mix cucumber and onion in a large bowl.
  4. Pour the white vinegar over the cucumber and onion and mix well
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
