Salty Lemon/ Preserved Lemon

Salty lemon /Preserved lemons are so easy to prepare. Preserved or Salty lemon means that it has been pickled in salt along with water and keep it for week before using.

How to prepare Salty lemon/Preserved Lemon

  •  Wash the lemons cleanly.
  •  Keep the lemon in hot water for 2 to 3 hours.
  •  Make them dry with a clean towel.
  •  Make cutting on top of the lemon from two sides. Don't cut fully it is shown in the picture.
  •  Fill with salt.
  •  Put all salt-filled lemon in a jar and add green chilies to it.
  •  Add some boiled water to it and mix them all together.
  •  After one week we will get a tasty salty lemon to eat with your rice.
  •  When it becomes translucent you will know they are soft and ready to use.
